ItsWar MapMaker

  • TO USE: Pick a tool (terrain,building,roadline,etc) and click where you want it to show. 
  • WHEN FINISHED: Take a screenshot and paste it into MSPAINT (or other)
    • For Windows, its the Prnstrcrn/SysRq key (next to F12)
    • On Mac, press Apple+Shift+4 for a selection window.
  • FILE TYPE: Save as a PNG or GIF, preferrably.
  • UPLOAD MAP: www.imageshack.us is a good place.
  • SHARE: Paste a Direct Link to the map in the map forum if you want feedback on it:)
  • Future mapmaker version: Will have a "Save Map" and "Code Map" feature.

Mapmaking Tips

These are not rules, but rather preferences:

  • HQ to HQ distance:  not more than 11 road sectors.
  • GP to GP distance: not more than 8 road sectors.
  • TeamHQ to TeamMine distance: more than 1, less than 5.
  • Avoid putting road on forest, where it can be avoided.
  • Unless its grass, avoiding having more than 3 of the same terrain next to itself (like 3-4 rockies in a row. Dont count hq/gp/mine sectors)
  • Make use of as many kinds of terrains, to make the map look more colorful.
  • Rivers, Rocky walls, and Mountain walls always come in handy, but aren't always needed. 
  • Keep in mind, ground vehicles can travel over non-road sectors as well (on grass and forest), so dont feel the need to fill the entire map with road lines. (It doesn't look pretty)
